How to Present at the TLC Assembly
Call for Presenters
TLC
invites professionals who provide treatment services, specialized
programs, trauma-specific resources, and those who conduct research
specific to interventions for traumatized children to participate. Three-hour presentations available.
Presenters will
be expected to offer practical experience to help attendees increase
their understanding, knowledge and skills in one of the particular areas
of interest listed below. Presentation must include responses and/or practices
related to the unique characteristics of traumatic stress in children
or adolescents. Presenters
must assume responsibility for all travel, lodging and other Assembly
related expenses.

Areas of
interest include intervention approaches, research, and resource specific
to:

Interventions for use with military families
- Posttraumatic
Growth Resiliency
- Complex Cumulative
Trauma: Research/Interventions
- School-Based
Programs
- Community-Based
Programs (hospitals, mental health agencies, family services)
- Interventions
for Special Populations (special needs students, children immigrating
from war torn countries, Native American Indians – other diverse
populations).
- Interventions
using Expressive Therapies/Interventions
- Interventions
for other trauma related behaviors (OCD like behavior, agoraphobic
like behavior) or anxiety disorders – separation anxiety disorder,
shyness, social phobia, agoraphobia, etc.
- Research which
supports practice (versus theory). Evidenced based research on interventions
with traumatized children is limited at this time. Approaches, which
have been field-tested and produced promising outcome data, will be
accepted for consideration.
